Jin Jun Mei is a prestigious black tea renowned for its golden hue and aromatic profile. Like our other Wuyi teas, Jin Jun Mei is grown at altitude in the Wuyi mountains, but unlike an oolong, it is fully oxidised, giving it a deep, malty character and a bright reddish colour when brewed.
Jin Jun Mei literally means “golden fine eyebrow” in Chinese, an allusion to the tea's golden fuzz and delicate, slender leaves. One of China's most sought after black teas, its popularity is justified by its fine appearance and complex character. A luxurious, serious tea, Jin Jun Mei is an essential part of any taste exploration of the Wuyi mountains.
